The Battle of the Search Engines
Wednesday,
May 15th at 6 p.m.
at Bookman's
Presented by Joe Bodin of
Reliable Web Designs
The
Internet
and
Search
Engines
have
changed
our
lives in
amazing
ways
adding
an
onslaught
of
readily
available
information.
Through
time, we
have
seen
drastic
changes
in how
this
information
was
provided.
From
Yahoo,
who was
the
original
big guy,
to
Google
who then
emerged
and
began
their
efforts
to take
over the
world.
Add into
the mix
the
failing
MSN who
remade
themselves
into
Bing and
have
been
desperately
trying
to make
a dent
in the
market.
Beyond
this,
there
are
literally
thousands
of other
Search
Engines
out
there
that
each
offer
something
different
and
special.
And now,
Social
Media
sites
like
FaceBook
are
doing
their
best to
find
their
niche in
the
Searchable
process
online.
During
this
Tech
Talk, we
will
discuss
the
different
Search
Engines
trying
to
figure
out what
makes
which
ones
better,
get
everyone's
insight
into
what
they
like and
what
they
don't,
and then
look
into the
future
to try
to
figure
out
where it
is all
going.

Mobile Websites and QR Codes
Wednesday,
October 17th at 6 p.m.
at Kickstand Kafé
Presented by Joe Bodin of
"Reliable
Web
Designs"
A huge portion of the public is
now viewing websites on
SmartPhones. This has led to a
whole new view of how websites
should look and function.
Clearly you still want your core
website to have lots of the
information so that it has good
content and is very searchable.
So, the concept of making a
separate Mobile Website or
Webpage is now a new area that
small businesses and non-profits
should be considering.
Along
with this, there are now QR
Codes (which are those box-like
bar codes) that can be used to
create an interactive experience
with cell phone users.
Come to
this Flag Tech Talk to learn
about how Mobile Websites and QR
Codes can enhance your
marketing. |

Analyzing Your Website
Statistics
Wednesday, July 18th at 6 p.m.
at Kickstand Kafé
Presented by Joe Bodin of
"Reliable Web Designs"
This discussion will be all
about reviewing your website
statistics to see how well your
online marketing is going. This
is one of the most underused
benefits of having a website. No
other form of marketing can give
you so much information like:
how many visitors have you had,
how many pages have they looked
at, where did they find you,
what search words did they use
to find you...
We will be
looking at a number of webstat
programs that are standard on
most web servers or can be
installed into your site like
Webalizer, AwStats, Google
Webmaster Tools and Analytics, Yahoo/Bing
Webmaster Tools, and
a few others. Come make better
use of your online marketing by
learning about your website
statistics! |
